Itinerary information
Day 1: Welcome to Almaty – City Tour
Arrive at Almaty Airport and transfer to your hotel. After check-in and some time to relax, proceed for a half-day city tour covering the famous Golden Square in central Almaty. Visit 28 Panfilov Guardsmen Park, the Eternal Flame, Green Bazaar, Ascension Cathedral, Arbat Shopping Street, and the Rakhat Confectionery Factory souvenir shop. After the sightseeing tour, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Kok-Tobe, Medeu & Shymbulak Tour
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed for a day tour of Kok-Tobe and enjoy a scenic one-way cable car ride offering panoramic views of Almaty. Continue to Medeu, located at an altitude of approximately 1,691 metres and famous for its high-altitude skating rink and mountain surroundings. Later, visit Shymbulak Mountain Resort, one of Central Asia’s popular mountain destinations, known for its scenic landscapes, ski slopes, and cable car experiences. After exploring the area, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Alma-Arasan Gorge & Ayusay Waterfall
After breakfast, head towards the beautiful Alma-Arasan Gorge, known for its fresh mountain air, scenic landscapes, and peaceful natural surroundings. Enjoy a traditional bird-of-prey show, showcasing Kazakhstan’s nomadic heritage and the long-standing tradition of falconry. Continue to Ayusay Waterfall and spend some time enjoying the surrounding mountain scenery. Later, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Turgen Gorge & Issyk Lake
After breakfast, embark on a full-day excursion to Turgen Gorge and Issyk Lake. Explore the scenic Turgen Gorge, surrounded by lush forests, alpine meadows, mountain streams, and beautiful natural landscapes. Continue towards Issyk Lake, a picturesque high-altitude lake surrounded by the stunning Zailiyskiy Alatau mountains. Enjoy the peaceful surroundings and capture memorable views before returning to Almaty and the hotel.
Day 5: Gorky Park & Dostyk Plaza
After breakfast, visit Gorky Central Park, a popular recreational area in the heart of Almaty, known for its greenery, walking areas, scenic lake, and family-friendly atmosphere. Enjoy some leisure and photography time before proceeding to Dostyk Plaza, a modern shopping and entertainment centre offering a variety of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options. After exploring the city’s popular leisure destinations, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 6: Departure from Almaty
After breakfast, enjoy some free time for relaxation or last-minute shopping, depending on your departure schedule. Later, check out from the hotel and proceed to Almaty Airport for your onward journey, marking the end of your memorable Kazakhstan discovery tour.
